Psst... want to take a road trip to Mt. Rainier ? Count on 1,300 miles and at least 1.5 solid days worth of driving. We left on Friday August 29th, 2005 and did not have to be in Rainier National Park until Sunday August 31st, 2005. Along the way we saw beautiful parts of Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
Among the roadside attractions and breaks... Vedauwoo, WY, The Great Salt Lake, UT, various scenic overlooks, numerous Frisbee sessions, a huge dam between Washington and Oregon, Hagerman Fossil Beds in Idaho, Japanese Internment camps in Idaho, and ample fascinating geology.
